Workshop and BMEET final seminar

February 2000 in Le Bourget-du-Lac, Savoie, France

Seminar was organised by INES, Institut National de l´Énergie Solaire. Altogether 70 researchers and experts from the industry participated, from Scotland and Italy. The programme included presentations from training organisers and software vendors. BIMEET project’s final results were introduced, with demonstration of The Tangible Table. Please see more here: D6.8 – Final Seminar

Expert panel meeting number 2

November 26th, 2019, Brussels, Belgium

Project results were presented from all WPs, and comments from Expert panel members, around 35 specialists in the field of BIM. Presentations from BIMEET partners was followed by group work sessions on BIMEET use-cases, Learning Outcomes (LO’s) and eLearning material. The structure of eLearning courses and relevant learning content was developed in collaboration. Please see the presentations here.

BIMEET project presented results during BIMLUX 2019 Conference

November 19th, 2019

Intervention with the conference participants was organised by LIST disseminating general information of the project, presentation of the poster and The Tangible Table tool on LIST's booth. Further introduction of BIMEET project and on-going research during a keynote talk (Sylvain Kubicki presentation)

BIMEET Workshop in SBE19 Conference

May 2019, Helsinki, Finland

During the “Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2019 - Emerging Concepts” a specific Workshop was organised by VTT and Metropolia to introduce BIMEET Skills-Knowledge-Competence (S-K-C) definitions and BIMEET Learning Outcomes (LOs) structure and their content. Please see more here: D3.2 – Definition of learning outcomes in the European level (linkki)

The target of this workshop was to reflect and collect feedback on presented BIMEET results from researchers and experts from the industry. Presentations from Sunil Suval, Maaria Laukkanen and Tarja Mäkeläinen to the workshop audience followed by group work (16 industry experts). Insights were used for further development of LOs structure and content.

Expert panel meeting number 1

February 2018, Brussels, Belgium

Presentations from all BIMEET partners and reflections with expert panel members, around 40 specialists in the field of BIM. Focus during the group work was getting feedback on the WP2 work and preliminary results which informed the elaboration of D2.1 and D.2.3 deliverables. Please see the notes of the meeting here.

BIMEET participated in PRO-VE 2018 in Cardiff

Ioan Petri et al. made a presentation about "A Virtual Collaborative Platform to Support Building Information Modeling Implementation for Energy Efficiency"

LIST University organised the first BIMEET training event in Luxembourg:

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) and the House of Training organized a training on the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) for energy efficiency in building, on 12 October 2018 in Luxembourg. During this day, 14 trainees - mainly architects and engineers - have been introduced to the uses one can expect from BIM in relation with energy simulation.

The requirements for the energy efficiency of buildings are becoming more stringent. Early in the design process, they require designers to perform dynamic thermal simulations to measure the impact of their choices. The use of BIM in this context makes it easier to simulate and better coordinate the activities of different actors. Through specific examples, this training addressed the link between BIM and the energy efficiency of buildings.  Donia Marzougui, French project's partner, discussed first on BIM and energy simulation on the basis of results developed within BIMEET project funded by the European Commission's Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME).

Then Marie-Sophie COLLARD talked about the building energy regulations in Luxembourg. The use of BIM to ensure energy efficiency in accordance with Luxembourg regulations was addressed. The session closed with feedback from a local architect: Charlie Boon-Bellinaso reported on the use of such tools in his own architecture practice.

Metropolia organised a seminar on BIM Education

BIMEET partners introduced a proposal for required BIM skills and knowledge for different roles in building process.

The coordinator of BIMEET Dr (Arch) Sylvain Kubicki was interviewed

by the Luzxembourg NeoMag 17/2018 in September about the potentials of BIM in energy-efficient building.

BIMEET member Donia Marzougui Labonne

- Expert in energy-efficient building and BIM - from INES ( was interviewed about BIM and energy-efficiency for «techniques de l'ingénieur»:

BIMEET participated in the 17th International Conference on computing in Civil and Building Engineering (ICCCBE)

in Tampere 5-7 June 2018 together with participants from 33 countries. Päivi Jäväjä presented an overview of the BIMEET project and introduced use cases that especially will need a description of skills related to BIM and energy-efficiency.

BIM training to enhance energy efficiency of buildings

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology is coordinating BIMEET, a new European project bringing together 9 partners around BIM technology as a key digital support for the energy efficiency of the built environment.

On 13 and 14 September 2017, the official launch of the BIMEET "BIM-based EU-wide Standardized Qualification Framework for achieving Energy Efficiency Training" project was held at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). Focusing on qualifications and training in BIM (Building Information Modelling), the project is funded by Horizon 2020, the European framework programme for research and innovation. Running for two years, this initiative brings together nine partners from the UK, France, Finland, Greece and Luxembourg, and numerous European experts.
